Maybe Sparrow

It is my humble opinion that ecocriticism and green cultural studies could do a lot more with popular culture. I say this openly in case my recent focus on Hellboy II and Wall-E weren’t enough of a clue.

Below is a video of the song “Maybe Sparrow” by Neko Case, a member of the Canadian ubergroup the New Pornographers. I include it because I think that the discussion of this sort of audiovisual object in the environmental humanities classroom could go a long way in bridging the concerns of instructors, who are used to a print-based pedagogy, and students with a Web 2.0 sensibility. That’s a lot of bridging for a sparrow, I know, but I feel Neko Case is up to the job.
